Educational Opportunity Center

The Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) is now open for individuals to make appointments and receive services in person or via the internet.  Please feel free to contact us to request tear-offs which may be used to provide individuals with contact information and referrals to our office. As an alternative, you may or use this email to provide them with contact information about the program and its services.

The Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) program provides counseling and assistance with admission and financial aid applications, and high school diploma equivalency tests to qualified adults who want to enter or continue a post-secondary education program. The EOC program also provides services to improve the financial and economic literacy of participants, as well as, career counseling.

Participants must reside in a target area (Houston, Montgomery and Stewart Counties in Tennessee or Christian County in Kentucky and Fort Campbell Base) served by an Educational Opportunity Center. The students must be at least 19 years old and older, have never been to college, or started college but stopped out or dropped out.  In addition, participants must be potential first-generation college students and/or low-income persons (eligible for PELL Grant or other need-based assistance).

Individuals may contact us by phone at 931-221-7481 to make or leave a message for an appointment.  Individuals may utilize our website to complete and submit an application for the EOC program.  On the website, there are instructions for the completion of the intake application and submitting the required documentation for the intake process. In addition, there are instructions for submitting w-2 Forms, IRS Tax Returns (1040’s), and additional information required for us to assist you in completing your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

The EOC is located on Austin Peay State University’s main campus.  The center is located in room 333 of the Ellington building, which is on the third floor of the building. The Ellington building is located on Drane Street, which is off of College Street.
