United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region invites the community to its 2016 Annual Membership Meeting and Campaign Celebration on Tuesday, May 19, 2016 at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center.
Concluding this year’s “Mission Possible” campaign theme, the event will recognize United Way agents of change – volunteers, contributors, workplace partners and partner agency programs dedicated to addressing critical humanitarian concerns and securing resources for those in need. Held each year to recognize campaign achievements and honor volunteer leadership, the luncheon’s festivities will also include election of local officers and board members for 2016-2017.
Presentation of campaign awards is a highlight of the event, including the legendary Ben C. Parks Award. Established in 1990 to honor the memory of Mr. Parks, a dedicated United Way supporter, this award recognizes a company or business that has conducted the best overall workplace campaign. The recipient is selected by volunteers serving on the campaign cabinet and is based on a wide variety of criteria. Considerations for the award include percentage of employee giving potential achieved, an increase in giving over the last year and the number of leadership donors within the organization. Publix Supermarkets received the award in 2015 for its outstanding support of United Way. Numerous other campaign achievement awards will also be presented throughout the evening. The Annual Meeting and Campaign Celebration is open to the public and community members are encouraged to attend. The event begins at 11:30am and will include lunch.
